You can reproducably crash notepad with these steps:
Prerequisite: a link to notepad++ is in the Sendto-Folder (C:\Documents & Settings\Username\Sendto)
a) Start notepad++
b) In Windows explorer, select two or more files (e.g. 'A.txt' and 'B.txt'), open the context menu and choose 'Send to notepad++'
c) A message box opens with the following message: 'C:\A.txt C:\B.txt doesn't exist. Create it?'
d) If you choose 'Yes' then notepad++ immediately crashes
Note that this crash only occurs if notepad++ is already running.
