Does anybody know if there is another way to get emacs key bindings in the rkward editor, other than changing every key binding individually in the preferences? Many thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Maarten

I know of no such way. However when you're done, you can save others the same effort by looking for the section "[Katepart Shortcuts]" in the file ~/.kde/share/config/rkwardrc and posting the contents somewhere (e.g. in the project wiki http://rkward.sourceforge.net/wiki\). Then others can simply copy and paste that section to get the same keybindings. Note, however, that in KDE 4 several of the actions in kate will have a different name, so most likely you will need to reconfigure the shortcuts again, then.

Hmm, too bad... But thanks anyway for the response. From the hints you give it looks like an emacs-bindings fragment from a Kate configuration file would also do. Couldn't find any such fragment on the web however. Well, when I finish this rkward job of defining keybindings I'll post the configuration. Cheers, Maarten

Hi Maarten, if you happen to do these keybindings, that will be a great contribution. Good luck, I am looking forward to it. Regards, PK.
