Problem with File Extensions in v4.4

    Hello,

I have just installed the new 4.4 version of Notepad++ and I am having a problem saving new files. I develop in a language which uses the file extensions .f, .m, .r, .s, .t and .v. Since installing v4.4 I am now unable to save new files using these extensions.

If I attempt to save a file called 'test.v' with 'All Types (*.*)' in the Save as type section of the Save As dialog; the file is renamed to 'test.txt'. The only way I can currently save files with another extension is to manually rename them outside Notepad++.

Is there a way that I can add my own extensions to the 'Save as type' dropdown, or turn this feature off?

    Thanks.

I have the same problem with .dtd files for xml.

      Can this be added also?

I have also found that the file extension change makes it difficult to access shared directories. For a start I normally have a link to the share which I need to access in the shortcuts section which appears on the left of the Save As/Open dialogs but that has now gone.

If I try to access the server by typing \\servername in the File Name box it then tells me that \\servername.txt is an invalid filename.

Is there a way to define the standard file type?
