I've been using NPP for some time, and I like it. Today for no (apparent) reason, every keypress I made produced a character in the extended character set, with dots and lines and carats above the a's, and o's, etc.
I never use this extra language stuff so I don't even know what it's called, so couldn't find a solution by searching help.
Anyway, it was stuck on, like caps lock; I could not change it in NPP. Could find no options that I might have accidentally set. All other apps worked fine.
I shut down NPP and restarted it and it was back to normal.
Is this a bug or is there something I did without knowing?

Maybe you've pressed F9 and activated ConvertExt (+Symbols eng/user_1). You can deactivate this by pressing F9 again.
