Files with unicode characters in the filename/filepath cannot be opened with notepad++.
For example,
C:\专辑\file.txt C:\Path\专辑.txt
(These paths contain japanese characters. If your computer doesn't have the correct fonts, you'll just see squares.)
Anyway, the point is that notepad++ says:
"C:\专辑\file.txt doesn't exist. Create it?" When I open the file both from the open menu and from double clicking the file.
Notepad++ has no problem reading unicode characters when they're inside files. Why doesn't it support reading paths with unicode characters in it?
mine would appear as "C:\??\file.txt doesn't exist. Create it?"
I meant to say they contain simplified Chinese characters. Either way, the problem exists for most (if not all) unicode characters.
Also, the vanilla notepad that ships with Windows opens these files just fine. So the files aren't corrupt or anything.
