To create a 'duplicate' view of the file - NPP allows you to edit / view the same file in two different panels - right click on the file tab, it brings up the context sensitive menu, select "clone to another view." You instantly have another panel open with the same file at the same cursor location!! <-- two thumbs up for NPP!! Hooray!!! :)
To move the file to the "other" panel, right click on the file tab, select "goto another view", the file will be over the "other" panel instantly at the same cursor location. Hooray!!!
Once you got two panels show up, you can resize the 'splitter', the bar between the two files, to adjust the size of the panel. You can click on the arrows at either end of the splitter to quickly hide the other panel.
A great trick, if you want to change the vertical panel to horizontal panel, simply right click on the splitter, it brings up two options, "rotate to right" & "rotate to left." Either option coverts horizontal to vertical. "rotate to right" puts the left panel on top, while "rotate to left" places the right panel on top. Hooray!!! Way to go Notepad Plus!!! :)
Cheers

Install Ty Landercasper's new Compare plugin,
https://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1811023&forum_id=331753
then put the two files side-by-side in two separate panels and press <Alt-D>.
Nice work, Ty!

I am new to npp. What do you mean two panels? And, step by step, how do you set it up? Please. Thanks.
