Delete first character of every line

    Hi,
    i search the way to delete the first character of every line.
    FAQ & Google didn't answer my question...

      You can record a keystroke macro for this purpose, then play it back "until end of file".

      If you have blank lines which need to be preserved, that introduces complications, but those are easily overcome if can tolerate trailing spaces or you don't require trailing spaces on the lines in your file.  The way to overcome the blank line problem is to have your keystroke macro first add a space to the end of the line, then delete the first character in the line.  When you've finished playing the macro, you can either delete all trailing spaces or leave them all there, as you choose.

      Or you can use column mode selection and only select the first column and delete.
