For some reason, the explorer plugin disappears when I installed 4.2.2... the dll is still there, but the toolbar icons are not there and my shortcut configurations no longer open them up...

Even if I understand that you doesn't include explorer plugin because it seems that some problems appeared with some users. Nevertheless lots of problem have been solved for this plugin so I thinks that it good be could to remove the deletion of this plugin with new installation of notepad++ because for those who have no big problem with the plugin it is very useful.
What do you think about this Don?
Thanks

First of all, I have to admit that Explorer plugin is one of brilliant plugins.
However, my goal is to provide a stable Notepad++ release to end users.
The decision to exclude a whichever plugins making crash Notepad++ from the release is obvious.

Notepad++ v4.2.2 is available in the Download section.
In this release, the file filters in Find in files dialog is added when Ctrl+Shift+F is triggered.
Another gadget (thank Bob) is added : Find dialog's transparency on lose focus.
Let me know if you like this feature.
Don
The new 4.2.2 version crashes on Windows VISTA when pressing CTRL + C (Copy).
The context menu function (Copy) works ok.
It would be good for new releases to develop a new interface, add an option to disable/enable or hide expert options: macro, textfx...

Hello
I try to download the 4.2.2 with this link but i think it is always the 4.1.2 :
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/notepad-plus/npp.4.2.2.bin.zip?modtime=1187220009&big_mirror=0
I just tried the link.
I confirm you that's the newest version 4.2.2.
Don
4.2.2 source package isn't up yet?
Nop.
But the source of v4.2.2 is available on SVN.
Don
That's even better - nice to see you're using svn, and I hope you're doing regular commits there :)
The new "transparency on lose focus" is great !
NPP's getting better and better :)

what is SVN?
good job don
Will there ever be a version for a standard or a U3 thumb drive? There are a few out there, but I am most comfortable with NPP.
-- Richard is awaiting a confirmation email from SourceForge.
Check out portableapps
in you download the zip-file version and uncompress it on your thumb drive you can start N++ without installation.
I come to rely on my plugins... and when an upgrade to n++ removes my plugin... Then it messes up my flow... hopefully this will be addressed soon.
