In the replace dialog add a checkbox for replace in all open files.
Users often open many files that need the same find/replace command run. It would be helpful if the user could check a box in the replace dialog and it would perform against all open files.

The only reason that it might take a while would be if you were opening files in multiple directories. Its easy enough to open everything in a single directory.

It is already there, press CTRL+H and see below Replace all.
Yes, but you have to open every file you want to replace the text in. This can take a very very long time.
Not if you use the 'Search In Files'-plugin. See http://sf.net/projects/npp-plugins
