I just discovered this great editor, it has more useful features than many commercial - so called professional - editors I used to work with!
It would be great if you could implement a remote editing functionality via SSH channels (SFTP) in one of your future releases.

    Thank you,
    Eddie

Uhm guys this already works.  I've been using it since 3.0 and ever since then I use it in combination with winscp.  It's not the functionality of N++, but rather Winscp.  Simply go into preferences, add your primary editor as N++ from within Winscp.  Bump it to the top of your editor list.  While in Winscp right click on a file...click edit.  By default it will load in N++ no matter the file type.  Be caeful what you open that way I guess.  I use it mainlly for PHP development.

If you have any questions, toss me an email

I would like to second this request. It is the single thing preventing me from using Notepad++ as my only editor now as I edit a lot of remote unix/linux files. Some have suggested using something like FileZilla or WinSCP and then selecting NotePad++ as the editor. I have tried this configuration and it is just not as reliable/smooth as having real scp/sftp support built into the editor.

I third the request... I'm actually so interested that I'm starting to learn C++ to try and build a plugin. If I start getting somewhere I might try to open a branch for development

        You can use SftpDrive

        http://www.sftpdrive.com

to accomplish this -- does a great job with notepad++, I use it every day

      Bump.
Maybe the programmers of notepad++ should contact the guys at filezilla or winscp or something.
I know there are alternatives like webdrive, netdrive and sftpdrive, but they are either not-free or illegal.
      I said BUMP!

      You can use WinSCP

      http://winscp.net/eng/index.php

Configure Notepad++ to be the default editor.

I use FileZilla with Notepad++ as the default editor.

I bump here .. I would appreciate such a feature. Just hitting ctrl-s and a file is saved on the other end of the world is the feature this editor needs.
