After I installed the latest version, every time I restarted my computer, notepad++.exe has been "eaten away" by some trojan virus. I hadn't had any computer viruses for ages when I installed the latest version my anti-virus program caught several of these malicious trojans/viruses.

I think you mean that your anti-virus has quarantined or removed Notepad++ because it thinks the application is infected. Maybe it is. Or maybe the virus definitions need to be updated; there have been some reports of false-positives for the installer. But the executable itself? That's a bit scary... --Joel
