I agree. One thing you can do to get the sizes the same, apart from trial and error, is to press control+/ on the numeric keypad to return to the default size on both.

When cloning (or going) to another view, the font size changes. This is possibly due to unknown (and saved!) zooming.
I have now used zoom to set the 'views' to the same apparent size. However it would be useful if there was an indication of the zoom level.
