While I find NP++ a very good editor one thing sadly irritates me greatly with every new release.

The default comment styles set to some weird font and size of 8pixels - they really break readability and appearance of the source code as comments are not properly aligned with the rest. I think this is very bad practice and many people I know and who use NP++ agree with me. So what I suggest is that comments by default would be in same font and size as normal code (I believe the default is Courier New 10) and possibly italic - as this is pretty much standard comment style in many other editors.

Of course I know I can change those manually (and I do), but it becomes rather annoying as I use a large range of languages (php, html, css, js, C, C++, xml, ini, ...) in my everyday work. And having np++ installed on several computers...

I really believe that having comments in italic and same font as normal code helps the readability and code flow. as It does not break the alignment.

I am fully aware of different ways of preserving or quickly changing to desired style. But this is beyond the point - what I suggested is that default comment styles would be changed. Not everyone likes to mess manually with config files and use some 3rd party tools. Maybe it would be nice to have a global comment settings as they appear in many languages.

See the thread "Default Comment Formatting":
      http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1715611&forum_id=331753

Take a look at the message "1a no what ur doing? Use Notepad++!".
      Perhaps this will help you.

Be so wise to copy the edited file, so you can restore it from there after any reinstall. You could use a simple file comparison tool to check for any added languages etc. to merge the new properties with you preferred settings.

But if the default comment formatting was the same as the rest of the code, but differnte color, no one would have to change it. It would work just fine
