My N++ looses focus everytime I switch back to it, this is very annoying. I then have to pick mouse in order to click somewhere in N++ text controller, this to get focus and be able to start typing again.
When I switch to N++ with say ALT+TAB, N++ main window has focus, but I got no cursor or insertion point displayed at all! This happens everytime I ALT+TAB then switch back to N++ (using old school WinXP pre-SP1 for some 3 years now). Installed n++_4.0.2.exe package then upgraded to 411_bins, and now even upgraded to 412_bins. Cant get rid of this annoyance :/ Help appreciated.
(Only behaviour similar I can think of is with Total Commander when I sometimes have to push 'ENTER' to get TC window displayed on screen after switching to it. I think author posted about this behaviour being normal. It is definetly less painfull than the loose focus I experience with N++, push 'ENTER' is no problem for me as I can keep hands on KB.)

My hat's off dear! Thank you for the quick and appropriate feedback :)
I removed DLLs for plugins one by one and found the guilty,
-> Explorer.dll 228 Ko (233.472 bytes)
"Explorer Plugin for Notepad++ v4.0.2 RC v1.1 RC"
Afaik, this plugin came in bundle with notepad++ 4.0.2 I installed in the first place. And I reckon I use to update my tools with binaries.
I really think notepad++ is great, only that I came across weird behaviours with focus here and there, I sincerily hope these were due to the unstable plugin I removed. When I come across another problem of events/focus I will apply same method again and eventually post a new topic on your forums with long description ;)
Thx again and keep the excellent work! ;) One excellent point of this proggie is it is a complete solution while it keeps opening tiny files in a split second, unlike UE and other "cheap" stuff :p

The current version of Explorer seems to fix the focus problem. You can download it at https://sourceforge.net/projects/npp-plugins/.
Regards.

Normally, this issue is fixed in v4.1.2.
It should be due to one of plugins you use.
Remove one by one then relaunch Notepad++ to see if your problem is solved.
Let us know which is the quilty one ;)
