After marking a couple of lines with the help of "Search->Find->Find all" and the "Mark line" option, I would like to preserve only those marked lines, or in other words delete all unmarked lines of text. What's the easiest way to accomplish this?

Have you looked at the TextFX Viz menu? I think you can do what you want with that tool, although it may take some experimenting. Backups strongly recommended! --Joel

I couldn't find anything in the menu that accomplishes this. Or if I did stumble across something, it caused Notepad to hang on a 77MB text file.
Look at the doc file NPPTextFXdemo.TXT for the TextFX stuff, which can be found in the plugins\NPPTextFX subdirectory where Notepad++ is installed.
There have been reports that Notepad++ is not suited to editing very large files. --Joel
