I think it would be very useful (if not necessary) to have more then 4 groups for keywords. I was in the process of setting up a game engine language I use but was stopped when I found I needed more than 4 groups (around 7). I tried adding them to the userDefineLang.xml but that didn't work very well. I hope this feature can be put in fast, because the syntax highlighting feature in Notepad++ is by far the most user friendly system I've seen.

If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
I can't believe I haven't found this software until now. Loving it so far.
I am setting up a G-code (cnc programming) language for myself. I tried adding more keywords to the .xml but, like the OP, it didn't work. I need about 12 keyword list groups. I would attempt to learn how to add the groups myself but, I can't seem to find any information on doing that....only a couple threads requesting more groups.
Does anybody have any "How-to" information on doing this? I'm not a computer programmer, so I don't know anything about compiling code or anything else to do with that....so the more detailed, the better.
Thanks for any help.

Sorry for the ancient thread revival.

Hi my87csx481,
this is not possible in current version. It will be solved in next major release of UDL. It will have 32 keyword groups.
Best regards,
Loreia
Awesome.
Thanks for the fast response.
Is there a time frame on that release?
