Okies, what is the deal. I upgrade to the 4.1.2 version and it will only open in the Maximize window, If I click restore down it minimizes to the status bar. What do I need to change to make it a moveable window again?
I did go to properties and normal window is selected.. so thats not it.

      Something to try, to start:

You might want to look at config.xml in your %APPDATA%\Notepad++ or Notepad++ installation directory.  Look at the attribute "AppPosition" and try toggling the "isMaximized" setting between "yes" and "no".  You might also want to reduce the size of the width and height if it is the same as your max screen real estate.

And you will probably need to edit config.xml with some editor other than Notepad++; Notepad++ would probably overwrite the config.xml changes when you close it.

Maybe the last open instance of the older Notepad++ might have been maximized before you installed 4.1.2 over it.  --Joel

        Hi
I had a similar problem that I solved by editing the config.xml Guiconfig AppPosition.

I sometimes use windows extended desktop over two screens and this time the window was last on the other screen. So when I then ran on a single sceen the window was to far to the left. I resetted the position in the file.

There should be some button in the setting that could reset the position incase it was wrong or out of vision. Or is there a way for the application to check of wide the current desktop is?

        Kind regards

It would have to be a hotkey; if the window was completely off-screen, you wouldn't be able to click on a button!  ;-)  I know; what you mean is a check-box setting.  I'd think that if the application can check, it could move the window at least partially onto the visible screen.

The next time you find Notepad++ off-screen, you might be able to avoid editing the config.xml file by doing this:

Right-click on the taskbar icon for Notepad++, and select "Move". Then use the left arrow key (or right arrow key, if the 2nd monitor was originally on the left) to move the window onto the screen. Finally, click the left mouse button or press the Enter key to end the move operation.

thanks, all that other stuff is way too techie.  thanks for note on right-click, left/right/up/down arrows.  i've been suffering for weeks on single monitor where it was stuck up in top left corner and unaccessible...
