Use WinMerge, it's a free and powerful program to compare text files.
Notepad++ has no special tool to do that.
However you can try that : in menu, dispay/duplicate in other view and place it vertically.

Textpad has a 'compare files' option in the tools menu. I found it really neat, very useful, and quick to compare differences; no need to use an external diff app. N++ should really look at including this functionality.
(just for the record i've stopped using textpad, i use n++ now :)

notepad++ is na editor, not a diff app... use WinMerge for example
Yes i feel same. N++ is a vary good editor. N++ should really look at including the 'compare files' functionality.

Winmerge sucks. This is dying project and they ignore very serious bugs
