sorting of what? this could be done by external script - all we need from notepad++ is to hande better external tools - linke in programmers notepad 2 - that is a great example of the best implemented external tools feature

You could try the TextFX Tools submenu. I sort at a column by ALT-selecting a block starting at the column where I want to begin sorting. Or I mark the complete block in the normal way to sort the block according to the start of the line. Then I select the appropriate TextFX Tools sort menu item. I know this works in 4.0.2. --Joel
