I currently have Notepad++ 3.9 I use it as a replacement for the windows version of notepad. I'm interested in upgrading to the version 4.0 of Notepad++. Can I just run the .exe file to upgrade or is there a better way. I looked on the site but it only talks about using the zip version to upgrade.

there is no better method I think. You can desinstall 3.9 befor but it is not necessary
