I am using 4.0.2 on XP/Pro, optical microsoft wheel mouse. No matter how I click left button with middle button, I could not crash NPP.
It's probably your mouse driver crashing. Performing a differential diagnostic should always precede a conclusion. Do the following tasks:
1.
Try it out the mouse click combination on some other applications.
You should try it on more than one other application. There may be applications that do not react to a driver bug.
2.
Change your mouse and hence your mouse driver.
And try the combination click on NPP.
What mouse, driver and OS are you using?

i found bug... when i click new file it added 3 instead 2...
it is fell wrong how this small bugs can exist since 3.xx and no fixes about it!!!

interesting but is only mouse crash... switch to another application and go back to notepad and mouse work fine again.
