After using Notepad++ without a problem on a Windows XP Home Edition system for over six weeks, the program started disappearing within one minute of launch. The program simply disappears from the screen and the notepad++.exe file is missing from the computer. Other files remain in the C:/Program Files/Notepad++ folder and the shortcut remains on the desktop. Nothing appears in the Windows event logs.
I have reinstalled several times and tried several more times after downloading fresh install files. My system is protected with a current edition of PC-cillin anti-virus and has been scanned several times for virus infections and spyware without identifing any malware.
