A "allow multiple instances" option would also be cool, because of the non MDI architecture.

Wow, such loud complaining is usually reserved for software that you pay for. Maybe you could download the source and make it work "right".
Notepad++ is a great replacement for Windows notepad. Just what was needed, a lightweight but capable editor. It reminds of the old days when I used Brief.

I'm sorry, but it is not the same thing having alt+f4 to close with a warning and esc to close it immediately. And it is up to the user if NP++ closes accidentally because both alternatives would be available, with esc being an option.
I find myself many times having a quick peek at a file, but then, sometimes I edit a file and need to save it when exiting. hence both options.

I wouldn't want NP++ to close immediately when I accidently hit the ESC button.
I'm sorry, but it is not the same thing having alt+f4 to close with a warning and esc to close it immediately. And it is up to the user if NP++ closes accidentally because both alternatives would be available, with esc being an option.
