I've noticed that with Notepad++ v. 4+ I have to manually minimize the application to switch to other open windows (like Firefox). No longer can I click on the window buttons in the status bar or use Alt-Tab. Has anyone else seen this? If so, is there a solution in place for this bug?

More precisely, it's the bug of Explorer plugin which comes with v4.0.2.
Removing Explorer.dll from the "plugins" directory ("plugins" directory is located in your Notepad++ installed directory) will solve the focus problem.

Yup, already reported at least 3 times... Most annoying. My fix is to
quickly hit Ctrl+TAB (to some other N++ tab) and then return to the
one in focus with Ctrl+Shift+TAB. Anything but clicking with the rat :-)

More details, please. Did you install Notepad++ or just unpack it from the zip-file? What is your OS? What plugins do you use?
I use Notepad++ 4.0.2 from zip-archive, w/o Explorer-plugin, OS is Windows2000 - and there is no such bug.

I haven't noticed such problems with Notepad++ 4.0.(0|1|2) on Windows XP SP2.
Make sure you haven't checked the View->Always on top option, because what you describe will happen if it is on, and that is a nice feature, not a bug :-)
