Some updates about this issue after I reversed back to v3.9, it's now quite obvious the Function List window slows down N++ (even with v3.9). Whenever I enable function list and edit a large .c file, it becomes very slow while editing. It works fast if no function list there.

I Alt+TAB a lot to other apps, but when I come
back to N++, there is no text cursor any more!
I need to click to start working -- which completely
rules out this version for me! The main reason I use N++
is that I don't need to touch the rat 95% of the time.
Please fix this. Thanks.
I'm a keyboard freak an N++ is fantastic! Keep up
the good work.
Still, it uses some "forbidden" combos, like
Ctrl+Alt+whatever, which should not be used by
apps. There exist MS recommendations in that area.
Since about 10 years ago I have all possible
Ctrl+Alt+whatever keys mapped to global functions,
but today many apps (including N++) have hijacked
them.

This seems to be the font problem (ClearType bug). I experimented with some font settings, but I hope now I have finaly the correct one. Please contact me direct via mail. I would like to send you a changed version to know, if its now working correct.

Status update of bug with Win2000 and HP1220C printer driver and plugins :
A direct unzip of all DLLs, has changed the behaviour of this, slightly .
File.Print -used to crash, now OK
File.PrintNow -used to crash, now OK
^P -used to be OK, Still OK
Print Icon - used to be OK, now crashes...
So mostly what used to work, and fail, have swapped places ?!
Rename plugin DLL folder, and all calls to print are OK.

Hmm, I replied to this, but can't see the posting here...
The Print.HP1220C.Win2000 crash, varies with DLL, but it is
not purely locked to one.
If I remove all, and add, the single one that causes crash
is hexEdit.
ALL DLLs also causes crash, BUT if I have just these 3
Explorer.DLL, hexEdit.DLL FunctionList.DLL, then
ALL print pathways are OK.
Strange, seems like uninitialised variable/param garbage and as these
move around in memory, the issue comes and goes ?

I became a big big fan of Notepad++ after used a lot other text editors (including some commericial products) and now keep promoting it to my colleagues :)
I previously used v3.9 and always look forward a new version coming out. then I tried v4.0.2 yesterday and found v4.0.2 is SOMETIMES very slower than v3.9 especially when I was editing some c source files, not very bigger file, around 3500 lines. it never happened on v3.9.
Also, Ctrl+Shift+B seems not working in v4.0.2 any more.
Keep going ahead, we all support you!

The chinese characters change to error codes in the Exploere. The 4.0.1 version doesnt have this issue. My OS is XP.

I am also losing the cursor in N++ after Alt-Tab.
4.0.1 doesn't have this problem. I am reverting to it until this issue is resolved.
BTW, I especially like the new Plug-in Toolbar in 4.0.1 !
Thanks,
-Ken
Remove Explorer.dll to remedy this problem.

Marking to matching parenthesis is provided by the TextFX plugin. I erased the Notepad++ folder and installed fresh and it's working fine here.
