Is it possible to add an auto-update feature (i.e. a button that searches for and downloads any available updates). Just thought it might be useful, lets people update to the latest version whenever they want, without them having to go to the site, find the downloads, save the file, run the file, etc.
Also, (this has probably been asked one million times) is it possible to add the ability to compile your code into an .exe file?
Just some ideas...

Anyway I think file releases are notified by SF through RSS if the project is thus configured. Enabling this option will perform as kind of an auto updater.

Hello, i am not sure to post into bug tracker so posting here. I've been using version 4.7.2 (installed with exe installer). For version 4.7.4 i downloaded the .zip package and unzipped/overwrited files in npp folder. When i started npp, it asked me if i want to check for an update. So I said Yes and it started to download and succesfully downloaded and offered me to install version 4.6 ! I cancelled it and now i'm still happy with my 4.7.4 version :). Thx for npp.

The "latest version" hasn't been updated on the server. I think this is done when the latest release has had some time to bed in, and receive feedback, i.e. when the 5.4 strain is considered stable. You can always download the 5.4.5 install package or zipped release from the sourceforge download area.

The "official" version which the updater checks is still at 4.6, because that's the latest bugless release. Once 4.7 is stable, the updater will be updated to check for that.

I have had version 5.2(i think) and it updated me to 5.3!! Now says there is 'no update available'...so I won't need 5.4.5!!
