Some advanced editors offer a block resp. column editing mode.
When in this mode I can marka block and exclude
e.g. the first 18 chars of all lines and all chars after position 54 of each line. Is this possible with NP++ as well?

When selecting text, hold down the ALT key to select a column.
No. The column mode in notepad++ is quite bad.
how do we enable the column/block editing mode? I'd like to try to simple stuff...
