Is it impossible to search for special characters (tab, new line etc.)?
Or am I just blind :-)

I'm the one posting the thread for replacing end line character.
- press [Ctrl + R] - look at the bottom of the dialogue box appearing there you find ^I=tab ^M=return (ANSI)
but it does not work

^ is not the charater '^' but it's the Ctrl key. Ghiwani
