    I was using Notepad ++ and upgraded the Vista. My windows explorer kept crashing and through trial/error I was able to find out it was Notepad ++ shell extension causing the issue.

    Just a FYI.

      What is your Notepad++ version?

      Yes, I am having problems regarding Vista as well. Specifically, it takes forever to load the files-tree. If I try to expand folders within the lower tree, the application crashes. I have VS2k5 on my system, and have the opportunity to get a disassemble dump - not sure if all that hex and machine-code will help you, but if it will, I'll be happy to provide it. I know the error revolves around write-permissions of some sort, even though I would think that expanding a folder wouldn't cause a "write-permission" error since I am not writing anything at that point. noel at nettensity dot com if you want the dump.

      Otherwise - I have always and WILL ALWAYS LOVE NP++ !!!

      In my post above, btw, I am running Vista Business Edition, with NP++ 4.0. I am planning to go to 4.0.2 as soon as you say its ready tho. ;)

      Do you have problems with the plugins? At best, try to rename the plugin folder create a new one and copy step by step any plugin to the new 'plugins' folder.

      I want to know the plugins that causes the crash. I could imagine: every of mine plugins causes a crash, because I didn't develope for 64Bit systems before and I am developing on VC6++.

      Best Regards

      i am using vista and notepad++ 4.0.2 always crashed - the problem was the hex editor plugin (v 0.4). i deleted the plugin an everything works fine.

      greetings

        Hello Leo,

        could you contact me via eMail? I have a new version for testing on Vista. Don't know if it works, because I have no Vista.

        Best Regards
        Jens

          Do you want this tested on Win 2000 as well, to see if the print.hp1220 crash is
          solved too ?
