I am having difficulty successfully installing. I have the icons but I don't have the Spamato folder. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I also installed the Java run time element from Sun, did a restart, un/reinstall, etc. to no avail. I'm not sure how to set the home value for Java and was no luck when I google'd it, perhaps that is the issue? If you can tell me how to set that value, and any other tips you can offer. I didn't see applicble post on the forum.
I have disabled the Thunderbird filters and the spam is piling up, so PLEASE HELP as soon as you have time.
I only use POP3 and only have the one Yahoo account. I also downloaded folder pane to set Local Folders as primary, to no avail.
    Here's the system info:
    Win XP w/current service packs
    Thunderbird version 1.5.0.5 (20060719)
    Spamato 0.99
    Java Version 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_07-b03)
Thanks in advance for your assistance, I'm anxious to use this app since TB native junk control is only about 80% effective.
    Thanks!
    Brad

I don't think it's a problem with Java, because in that case there would be a warning. But you might want to check this:

You don't need folder pane. In fact, it makes things more difficulty. If you don't need folder pane, just uninstall it again. If you want to keep it, do the following: Open the Account Settings (menu "Tools") and select your POP account (not the Local Folders). Press "Set as Default". Restart TB.

If this does not help: Take a look into the JavaScript console (menu Tools). Anything in there regarding Spamato?

OK, I uninstalled Folderpane because I don't use it.
I set the java variable using the instructions.
      I uninstalled and reinstalled Spamato.
Now the java console has this error:
      "Error: redeclaration of var copyService
      Source File: chrome://spamato/content/spamato.js
      Line: 138"

Previously there were no Spamato errors in the java console.
I used to have a skin called chrome, but I uninstalled it long ago. I also uninstalled today the quick note extension, which was showing in a chrome subfolder, so then I wasn't sure if chrome is a TB default folder or not.
I have the following extensions currently installed: Talkback (Mozilla), Forumzilla (an RSS feeder), Sender Verfication, and Spamato.
I also reverted to the default TB theme and uninstalled the one I had.
But I'm still getting the one Spamato error in Java.
I think we are getting closer. Thanks for your assistance.

Chrome is what Mozilla dubbs its user interface components. All graphical extension will have something like this.

To your problem (copyService): I'm not sure where the problem is. Probably Forumzilla or Sender Verification causes (together with Spamato) the problem. If you like, you can uninstall one of those and check whether the problem remains. Please report your experiences here :-)!

I've filed a bug report for this. I should be able to circumvent the problem in a future version. Thanks for reporting.
