I DO KNOW about these files, but they are
"WINDOWS 32 bit TEXT MODE" programms, not
"DOS" (16 bit or 32 bit) programms. They DO NOT RUN
without WIDOWS. :-(

I currently am running the 32 bit version of 7-zip on the WinXP Pro x64 RC1 (which is officially out and a free download from Microsoft) and would Love to see 7-zip become even faster on this platform.
You could field test some 64-bit beta versions... I know I'd run them, and so would a few of my buds over @ PlanetAMD64.com.

I suppose 7-zip will be 10-15% faster on AMD64. I plan to release it in April.
