I recently upgraded my SuSE Linux distribution from 7.3 to
9.1. When I fired up the SuSE rpm'ed version of bzflag
the program came up OK, and the mouse cursor could move,
but I could not enter any of the initial menu items, and the
key board was unresponsive. To address the problem, I
downloaded the latest bzflag (1.10.6) and built from the
sources. The compile was clean, but the invoked program
manifested the same problem. Here is the output from the
-version flag:
~% /usr/local/bin/bzflag -version
BZFlag client, version 1.10.6.20040908-RELEASE-linux-gnu
protocol 1910
~% /usr/bin/bzflag -version
BZFlag client, version 1.10.4.20040406-RELEASE-linux-gnu
protocol 1910
Other OpenGL based games (e.g. TuxRacer) behave
normally.
I would appreciate any suggestions, as I am really missing
playing bzflag :-(.
Thanks,
Paul

Which window manager are you using?
I'd the same prob with blackbox.
The problem doesn't appear with fluxbox or other windowmanagers...
Lars
Hi Lars,
I am using blackbox. I can try another window manager
and report back.
