This is a Linux based VM that is intended as a way to get security researchers started with simple botnet research. It also requires the researcher have some ability to assess and exploit vulnerabilities, with the ultimate goal of obtaining root access to the VM. This is the second of many to come, please feel free to supply feedback so I can make future ones more enjoyable and fulfilling. The network configuration of the VM is set to auto, so it is easiest to run with some sort of DHCP server on the same network(or just select the NAT option in your virtualization software). It is suggested that you use the NAT option along with port forwarding, but as long as you have TCP access to the VM, you should be fine. There are no supplied credentials, and it is intended that the network services on the VM are the attack vectors. If you have questions, feel free to ask in #vulnhub on freenode(I'm bwall on there). VMAware is a cross-platform library designed to detect virtual machines. It is meant to be stupidly easy to use, with only 5 total functions in its public interface. Additionally, it supports brand detection. While there are many VM detection mechanisms that are already in use, VMAware features up to 80+ unique techniques to get the most accurate result possible. On top of the library, there's a CLI tool that takes advantage of the full library (see screenshots) It's also meant to be compatible with ARM, and 32-bit Windows, with C++11 support. The library also has separate MIT and GPL compliant code, allowing for licensing flexibility among proprietary and open-source projects. -

Las prácticas consistían en portar el actual sistema operativo (OSO) que funcionaba únicamente en el modo real (16bits) para que aprovechara las capacidades que proporcionan los procesadores a partir del 386 en cuanto a protección y acceso a memoria. El código fuente del Oso32 ha sido liberado bajo licencia GNU General Public License v2 (GPLv2) ya que hace uso de un controlador de disquetera escrito para FreeDOS bajo dicha licencia. -
