Open Source C Virtual Reality Software

This repository contains source code and build scripts for implementations of the OpenXR loader, validation layers, and code samples. OpenXR is a royalty-free, open standard that provides high-performance access to Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), collectively known as XR platforms and devices. Without a cross-platform standard, VR and AR applications and engines must use each platform’s proprietary APIs. New input devices need customized driver integration. OpenXR provides cross-platform, high-performance access directly into diverse XR device runtimes across multiple platforms. OpenXR enables applications and engines, including WebXR, to run on any system that exposes the OpenXR APIs.

A hybrid visualization framework for desktops, large immersive displays and the web. A framework for virtual reality and cluster-driven display systems. Requires Python (the pre-installed 2.7 version on OSX and most linux distros works fine, on Windows omegalib comes with python bundled so you don't need this). C++ Build tools for your platform (g++, clang/XCode, Visual Studio 2012/2013 depending on the OS). On windows, the free Visual Studio editions work fine. Modules are optional components that extend omegalib functionality. Enabled modules are automatically downloaded and compiled. A full list of modules can be found in the Omegalib hub. On most platforms, omegalib is distributed as a source-only project. Users are responsible for creating binaries for their operating system and architecture. The build process is kept as simple as possible and should require very little configuration effort by the user. Omegalib can build out-of-the-box and has no external dependencies.

MyWorld is an open virtual reality and game engine. It is written and usable in C/C++. It has own abstract layers for Graphics and Physics. Actually we use Irrlicht for 3D-Rendering and GUI, and ODE for Physics. It is smart, powerful and easy to extend.

A graphical isometric multiplayer virtual reality server in MUD-style. Rooms and server code can be changed online. At the moment, there is also an IRC link. Clients are available in Java and Python/C.

Exipnos is an Open Source, network based 3D virtual reality platform. The platform is intended mainly (but not exclusively) for eLearning applications. Role Player or Adventure Games might as well be developed and hosted on Exipnos.

AVRS performs spatial 3D-sound processing allowing the arbitrary placement of sound source in auditory space. The main goal is to develop a genuine experimental flexible platform, that runs in a general-purpose architecture computer (standard hardware and software).

Flatland is the virtual environment developed to perform these investigations. Using Flatland as the base environment scientists can visualize and explore both their data and the computations that manipulate that data. Imagine, if you will, a scientist able to examine the real-time results of a simulation and, when he notices an anomally he would like to investigate, he turns to the program running the simulation and examines the code, possibly changing it on the fly. This is the dream of Flatland.

The AR Drone is a quadrotor helicopter sold by Parrot. Parrot sells the drone as a toy controlled via a wireless device such as Ipods, Ipads, or Android based devices. Parrot advertises the toy as an advance in gaming because the control devices will project a virtual reality allowing users to play with their physical drone with an enhanced version on their controller where bullets or hot air balloons must be avoided in the virtual world. KIPR, KISS Institute for Practical Robotics is an organization that facilitates the learning of robotics programming in middle and high school students to peak an interest in computer science. To do this they hold competitions around the world called botball where students program autonomous land robots to perform various sets of tasks. KIPR, now wants to expand and leave the ground by integrating flying robots (the AR Drone) into the tasks for added interest, fun, and challenge for students.

The VR_MUSICIEN project is based on the Chromium plateform and allows user to easily port their OpenGL code in a Virtual Reality Environment. This library especially computes the asymetric frustum for multiuser headtracking stereovision.
