QtlMovie is a graphical frontend to FFmpeg, DVD Author, telxcc, CCExtractor, mkisofs and growisofs. QtlMovie is not a general purpose frontend to FFmpeg, so many of them already exist. QtlMovie focuses on a small number of tasks such as the generation of DVD or iPad movie files from any video file or DVD. The unique feature of QtlMovie is the ability to correctly handle most types of subtitles: DVD, DVB, SRT, SSA/ASS, Teletext, Closed Captions and burn them into the output video in one click.

The videotrans project is a set of scripts that converts a movie file in any format that mplayer understands (AVI, etc) to a DVD compatible VOB file, including all the necessary conversions. Further, an automatic DVD menu generator is provided.

Aeyae Remux can be used to extract portions of original video into a separate file. Aeyae Remux is a GOP-based editor (GOP = Group Of Pictures), which means it doesn't do any transcoding, only remuxing. However, it can truncate a GOP. Aeyae Remux can be used to stitch together files... within reason. Since it is only a remuxer -- stitched files must be of compatible format. This means stitched files must have the same audio/video codecs, and codec properties (width, height, sample rate, etc...). That said... Aeyae Remux currently doesn't check or enforce this restriction, so beware -- garbage input will likely produce garbage output. Linux binaries are provided as AppImage, built on Ubuntu 14.04. 8 GB of RAM (but more is better) is highly recommended if working with source files longer than 2 hours.

Simple Scalable, Parallel, Multi-bitrate Video Transcoding On Centos / Ubuntu / Suse / RedHat (Bash Scripts) Multi-bitrate Video processing requires lots of computing power and time to process full movie. There are different open source video transcoding and processing tools freely available in Linux, like libav-tools, ffmpeg, mencoder, and handbrake. However, none of these tools support PARALLEL computing easily. After some research, I found amazing solution designed & developed by 'Dustin Kirkland' based on Ubuntu JUJU and avconv. But our requirement was little bit diffrent from Dustins's solution. Our requirement was to convert single video in Multi-bitrate and in formats like 3gp, flv and upload them to single or multiple CDN(like Akamai or tata). Also we want to build this solution on top of CentOS and ffmpeg. So I decided to design and develop "Simple Scalable, Parallel, Multi-bitrate Video Transcoding System" by myself.
