A Java framework for writing sprite based games (turn-based, card, and arcade games.) Provides: Sprite management, rendering (Java2d or OpenGL), Collision Detection, Sprite widgets (buttons etc...), visualeditor for layout of game widgets.
Pangaea will be a robust and feature filled game engine built using Allegro (http://alleg.sourceforge.net) It will be similar to Final Fantasy 1-3, etc., complete with map editor/world builder.
