Tool Command Language (Tcl) is an interpreted language and very portable interpreter for that language. Expect is a tool for automating interactive applications such as telnet, ftp, passwd, fsck, rlogin, tip, etc. Expect is also useful for testing these same applications.

tcllib is a Tcl-only library of standard routines for Tcl (no compiling required). This project also houses the CVS modules for BWidgets, tclbench, mclistbox, tclapps, and tklib. The Next Scripting Framework (NSF) was developed based on the notion of language-oriented programming. The framework allows a language developer to work with multiple object systems on top of Tcl in a single workspace. NSF provides a tool box for defining dynamic, object-oriented, and domain-specific languages. NSF ships with 3 fully scripted language definitions, containing XOTcl 2 and the Next Scripting language NX. NX is a highly flexible and object-oriented scripting language. It is a descendant of XOTcl and was designed based on 10 years of experience with XOTcl in projects containing several hundred thousand lines of code. While XOTcl was the first language designed to provide language support for design patterns, NX adds language-oriented programming and higher safety.
