jVMonitor is a Java application which uses the VMware Infrastructure (vSphere) Java API (http://vijava.sourceforge.net) to monitor the status of a VMware vSphere Infrastructure (from version 4.0 and above). It is able to check the virtual machines, hosts and datastores status and if an alarm occurs, it can be notified through a mail or a syslog message.
