It runs about same speed though. It's important when dealing with symlinks and mounts to use real information. realpath(3) has a coulple other glitches i noted however some might be found in realpaths(1) - - but the major issue is whether guessing is allowed. ... -

...mechanism has some wierdness and shortcomings which this wrapper works around... like that you can only pass a single argument to the interpreter, and that it ignores the PATH variable.
