TraceMAC is a command-line Layer 2 traceroute for Cisco switches
TraceMAC is a Windows/Linux command-line tool that allows you to trace a specific MAC address thru Cisco switches. It works by connecting to a switch using SSH, SNMP, Telnet, HTTP or HTTPS and do some "show commands" and later process the output, this will happen recursively until it finds the switch where that MAC address (PC/Printer/Etc) is directly connected. Note: It works with Cisco switches only and you must have CDP enabled at least on trunks/links between switches! Yet another Linux kernel configuration comparator
Produces a succinct comparison of two Linux kernel configuration files, showing added, removed and changed settings, in an indented layout reflecting the configurator menus. The resulting text file is coloured when the output is to a terminal; the colours can be retained when redirecting the output to a file or pipe. Now comes with a program to extract configuration variable names and their prompts from their kernel build system, to create a symbol table. The comparison program can use this table to further annotate its output. This program can also be used to create a commented "pretty-print" of a kernel configuration by comparing it with an empty one such as /dev/null. -

Simple Log File Monitor is a bash script that can be used to monitor log files or other text files and execute commands on the output of the logfile. The motivation for this script originally was to be able to get a subset of a log file emailed to an email address easily while still being portable. Built to use as little as possible, a system with bash, wc, grep, tail, and date should be able to use this script, though a command-line email client would be required to send emails out.
