ethflop is a DOS TSR that emulates a floppy disk drive. Such virtual floppy disk is, in fact, stored on a Linux server as a classic floppy image. All the communication between ethflop (the TSR) and ethflopd (the Linux daemon) is based on raw Ethernet. No need for any network configuration - the DOS PC only needs to have some kind of Ethernet adapter (physical or emulated, for example through PLIP) and a suitable packet driver.

FastFlow is a C/C++ programming framework supporting the development of pattern-based parallel programs on multi/many-core, GPUs and distributed platforms. FastFlow run-time is built upon non-blocking threads and lock-free queues. Thanks to its very efficient CAS-free communication/synchronization support (e.g. few clock cycles core-to-core latency), FastFlow effectively supports the exploitation of fine grain parallelism, e.g. parallel codes managing very high frequency streams on commodity multi-core. Since the summer of 2010, the FSAE team High Speed Karlsruhe uses Infineon's XC878 to power its electronics. The XC878 is an 8052 compatible 8-bit µC. Our dedication is to 8-bit real time applications, guaranteed by the powerful peripherals of the XC878. LabMonkey is a collection of designs for embedded devices which can be networked together to provide a range of automation, data logging and signal processing functions. A key design objective is to use as little dedicated hardware as possible for communication between nodes in the network, and to be able to adapt the network topology in real-time so as to minimize the occurrence of collisions between packets. To achieve this, a protocol has been designed specifically for the task, and implemented in assembler for AVR microcontrollers. The project is currently at the stage of testing the protocol for bugs and implementing some simple devices which use it.
