Little command line tool implementing a ring buffer which can be flushed by a signal. With a second signal the buffer can be discarded. I use it for preparing a recording from a dvb device so a record sart will catch also the last seconds before.

A Linux kernel module for replicating a stream (a char device such as /dev/urandom or /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0) in such a way multiple processes can concurrently read it. Example use: watching (or watching/recording) two DVB-T channels at the same time.

The dbox2 is a DVB (digital video broadcast) Receiver / Set-Top-Box in Germany. Linux was ported onto this box and drivers for the specific Hardware were written. Currently a graphical user interface is on the way. tiab tries to bundle all these efforts.
