Searches NTFS volumes almost instantly
SwiftSearch is a lightweight program whose purpose is to help you quickly find the files you need on your Windows machine without ever requiring you to index your drives. Most search utilities that achieve similar speeds do so by indexing drives while the computer is idle, but because idleness detection is so difficult to get right, in practice they end up slowing down the whole system just to speed up search. SwiftSearch works differently: given administrator privileges, it completely bypasses the file system (only NTFS supported) and reads the file table directly every time, which speeds up search by many orders of magnitude. Typically searches yield full results in ~10 seconds or less, a significant speedup for many users. As a bonus, this program also supports path-based search (for example, you can search for "*Program*\Windows*"), regular expressions (just start the search name with '>' character), and full directory sizes. Its goal is to be simple, swift, and intuitive to use.

Your linux deployment tool!
m23 is a free software distribution system (license: GPL), that installs (via network, starting with partitioning and formatting) and administrates (updates, adds / removes software, adds / removes scripts) clients with Debian, (X/K)Ubuntu, LinuxMint, openSUSE, Fedora and CentOS. It is used for deployment of Linux clients in schools, institutions and enterprises. The m23 server is controlled via a web interface. A new m23 client can be installed easily in only three steps. Group functions and mass installation tools make managing a vast number of clients comfortable. The integration of existing clients (with .deb-based distributions) into the system is possible, too. Client backup and server backup are included to avoid data loss. With the integrated virtualisation software, m23 can create and manage virtual m23 clients, that run on real m23 clients or the m23 server. Scripts and software packages (for installation on clients) can be created directly from the m23 web interface.

advanced disk information utility
'di' is a disk information utility, displaying everything (and more) that your 'df' command does. It features the ability to display your disk usage in whatever format you prefer. 'di' also checks the user and group quotas, so that the user sees the space available for their use, not the system wide disk space. 'di' is designed to be portable across many platforms and is great for heterogenous networks.
The aim of HxC Floppy Emulator project is to provide an software and hardware solution to replace the old floppy disk drive by an another modern solution (USB, SDCard,...)

RAQUEL : "Relational Algebra Query, Update and Executive Language"
The project has 2 related sets of aims. As a language, RAQUEL is to : 1. be a pure relational language (unlike SQL) as defined by Date & Darwen's "The Third Manifesto"; 2. incorporate a generalised extension of the ANSI-SPARC 3-layer DB architecture; 3. have the maximum ratio of functionality to conceptual complexity (as defined by Fred Brooks). As a DBMS, RAQUEL is to : 1. have an Open Architecture, enabling a variety of DBMS configurations of 'black box' code, each installation optimised for a certain kind of DB; 2. have a range of core black boxes to provide general DBMS functionality, & a range of plug-in black boxes to support different physical storage mechanisms & scalar data types; 3. employ code designed with a mixture of functional, OO & other methods so as to minimise internal DBMS state complexity. The project links to a Northumbria University website where the vision, specification & design of RAQUEL have been published.
Moved to GitHub.com/gdraheim/zziplib/ The ZZIPlib provides read access on ZIP-archives. The library uses only the patent-free compression-algorithms supported by Zlib. It provides functions that transparently access files being either real files or zipped files, both with the same filepath
Project has been moved to github - https://github.com/intel/ledmon The ledmon and ledctl are Linux user space applications which use broad range of interfaces and protocols to control storage enclosure LEDs. Monolingual is a program for removing unnecessary language resources from Mac OS X.
Byte CALculator for storage conversions and calculations
bcal (Byte CALculator) is a command-line utility for storage conversions and calculations. Storage, hardware and firmware developers work with numerical calculations regularly e.g., storage unit conversions, address calculations etc. If you are one and can't calculate the hex address offset for (512 - 16) MiB immediately, or the value when the 43rd bit of a 64-bit address is set, bcal is for you. Though it started with storage, the scope of bcal isn't limited to the storage domain. Feel free to raise PRs to simplify other domain-specific numerical calculations so it can evolve into an engineer's utility. bcal follows Ubuntu's standard unit conversion and notation policy. Only 64-bit operating systems are supported.
A free file archiver for extremely high compression
7-Zip is a file archiver with a high compression ratio. You can use 7-Zip on any computer, including a computer in a commercial organization. You don't need to register or pay for 7-Zip. 7-Zip works for Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2008, 2003, 2000, NT, ME, and 98. And there is a port of the command line version to Linux/Unix. Most of the source code is under the GNU LGPL license. The unRAR code is under a mixed license with GNU LGPL + unRAR restrictions. Check the license for details.

The missing terminal file browser for X
nnn is a fork of noice, a blazing-fast lightweight terminal file browser with easy keyboard shortcuts for navigation, opening files and running tasks. noice is developed considering terminal based systems. There is no config file and mime associations are hard-coded. However, the incredible user-friendliness and speed make it a perfect candidate for modern distros. nnn works with the desktop opener, adds new navigation options, navigate-as-you-type mode, enhanced DE integration, bookmarks, a disk usage analyzer mode, comprehensive file details and much more. Add to that a huge performance boost. If you want to edit a file in vim with some soothing music in the background while referring to a spec in your GUI PDF viewer, nnn got it! Quickstart and see how nnn simplifies those long desktop sessions... Demo: https://vimeo.com/215489406
