The goal of this project is to make Darwin more usable by providing an installation ISO, documentation, and add-on software.
Educational Linux Distribution
Main goals: * Prepare operating system based on Linux kernel and free software for use at home from scratch by building sources. Binary packages/images are also available. * Each package is installed in separate directory, so you can use different versions of applications and libraries by design. * There is only one user 'kanapi' with root permissions, so you don't have to login, remember passwords, etc. * Simple configuration * Automatic compilation.
FreeBSD GNOME LiveCD built using the latest development ports
Latest stable version - GNOME 3.26 - working Latest unstable version - GNOME 3.27 - working This project provides live systems built using the latest FreeBSD release and the latest GNOME ports from the FreeBSD GNOME project. Scripts used to build the LiveCDs are also available for downloading. The scripts are largely based on this article: https://wiki.freebsd.org/AndriyGapon/AvgLiveCD Note: This is not a general-purpose LiveCD! I track the development version instead of the stable version. If you want to do things other than previewing the latest (possibly unstable) GNOME release, please download the scripts to make your own LiveCDs. If any bug is found, please download the debug version LiveCD to find the cause and report it to the FreeBSD GNOME project or GNOME bugzilla. Starting from GNOME 3.12, most portability patches are merged upstream, so you can also directly use JHBuild on FreeBSD to check whether an issue is already fixed in the upstream.
The goal of FruityOS is binary compatibility with Mac OS X, reimplementing core Apple technology in a manner that is free and open. Towards that end, several open source projects will be combined, e.g., GNUstep, Cocotron, and Darwin OS.

IRC Info: #bsdgeekclub @ irc.freenode.net @CyberpunkZ @UNIXn3rd Admin & Project Leaders This Project is by CyberpunkZ & UNIXn3rd using DWM 6.1 and gtk2 using murrine engine with a scheme that was totally inspired by Twilight from a iTerm2 terminal scheme. It is a complete consistent GUI and TUI system SKEL for DWM and X11 with a SMIT program by UNIXn3rd. The FreeBSD based and ISO IMG will be done by both of us. Later in the future this system UI will be on a FreeBSD based and will be a BSDBOX Distro. Using ISO and IMG format. This Skel works only for FreeBSD. So please use this setup on a FreeBSD type system. If you have OS X you can use this on XQuartz. This Skel includes a C installer script call bbinst here is the source code of what this little c binary does: http://pastebin.com/H50Rf8Jt
I'm changing this to a Openbox setup. Will be making a FreeBSD base distro call BSDBox. This is the X11 SKEL for Openbox, and other programs that I design with the UI, The panel of choice is of course bmpanel2. Screenshot on the summary to see how it looks like. There is a C installer script that you can use inside home <DIR> su to the root shell, but make sure to be in your user home <DIR> ./installer should copy all the packages needed for this config, and also it will unextract the SKEL.
Release your own FreeBSD. Grab an official FreeBSD ISO image, create a new project and build it. Current sub-projects are : FugFR LiveCD (XFCE LiveCD), Folie (Gnome LiveDVD concept), Klive (KDE LiveDVD concept), Etoile (EtoiléOS LiveCD experimental)
