Smoothwall is a best-of-breed Internet firewall/router, designed to run on commodity hardware and to provide an easy-to-use administration interface to those using it. Built using open source and Free software, it's distributed under the GNU Public License.
PeerGuardian - a privacy oriented firewall application
PeerGuardian is a privacy oriented firewall application. It blocks connections to and from hosts specified in huge blocklists (thousands or millions of IP ranges). Its origin seeds in targeting aggressive IPs while you use P2P. PeerGuardian Linux: Actively developed. However the team is very small and with few spare time. Contributors are welcome! Peerguardian OS X: Not developed anymore. We've lost contact with the OS X developer. New contributors are welcome! PeerGuardian Windows: Not developed anymore. It's highly recommended to use PeerBlock instead, which is a continuation of PeerGuardian's development in Windows, with bug fixes and support for Windows Vista and Windows 7. New contributors and/or collaboration with peerblock.com are welcome! PeerGuardian is an open project. Not only is its source code open for you to read, use, and modify - but the project is open for you to join and contribute in any form (code, documentation, bug reports, web and support).
Firewall Builder is a GUI firewall management application for iptables, PF, Cisco ASA/PIX/FWSM, Cisco router ACL and more. Firewall configuration data is stored in a central file that can scale to hundreds of firewalls managed from a single UI. A message from project maintainers: After working on Firewall Builder for many years it is with some sadness that Vadim and I are announcing that we have suspended all development activity for this project. Firewall Builder has been a great project to work on and we have truly appreciated all the support and positive feedback that the user community has provided. Without you we wouldn’t have been able to keep things going this long. You might be wondering why we are doing this... We had an exciting opportunity come up to start a company developing advanced security automation solutions. This was a chance of a lifetime that we just couldn’t pass up and unfortunately it means that we no longer have time available to work on improv
A java PCAP and DPI library
A java wrapper for popular "libpcap" and "WinPcap" libraries. Accurate full API translation. Packet buffers delivered with no copies. Send custom packets, gather statistics. Comprehensive and easily extensible DPI engine.
Blocks "known bad" IP-addresses from accessing your machine, especially corporate/governmental agencies. This is a fork of PeerGuardian 2, fixing various Vista/Win7 problems.
VTun is the easiest way to create Virtual Tunnels over TCP/IP networks with traffic shaping, compression, and encryption. It supports IP, Ethernet, PPP and other tunnel types. VTun is easily and highly configurable. VPN, Mobile IP, Shaping, etc
A utility for detecting and resisting BIDIRECTIONAL ARP spoofing. It can anti-spoof for not only the local host, but also other hosts in the same subnet. It is as well a handy helper for gateways which don't work well with ARP.
This is a daemon that emulates Microsoft's Internet Connection Service (ICS). It implements the UPnP Internet Gateway Device specification (IGD) and allows UPnP aware clients, such as MSN Messenger to work properly from behind a Linux NAT firewall.
Windows Port Knocking. A Windows implementation of port knocking developed to work alongside an existing firewall (the free CHX-I Packet Filter v3.0).
GreenSQL is a database firewall engine used to protect Open Source Databases from SQL injection attacks. It works in proxy mode. Application logics is based on evaluating of SQL commands using risk score factors, as well as blocking of sensitive commands
FirewallPAPI is an open source firewall for Windows 2000 and above. It is a simple utility for filter network traffic.
VTD-XML is the next generation XML parser/indexer/editor/slicer/assembler/xpath-engine that goes beyond DOM, SAX and PULL in performance, memory usage, and ease of use.
IDS + IPS for RouterOS (mikrotik)
This project reads logs from your mikrotik firewall and creates an address list with detected attackers
CartoReso intends to facilitate enterprise computer network mapping.
Portfwd is an user-level tool which forwards incoming TCP connections and/or UDP packets to remote hosts.
Debian packages for PeerGuardian Linux (including the GUI) and its precessor moblock/blockcontrol/mobloquer. PeerGuardian is a privacy oriented firewall application. It blocks connections to and from hosts specified in huge blocklists (thousands or millions of IP ranges). Its origins lie in targeting aggressive IPs while you use P2P. See http://sourceforge.net/projects/peerguardian/
iSafer firewall is used to protected your PC against spywares, spamwares. It is also a good example for software developers to understand the basic knowledge about firewall. NOTE: Visit http://isafer.sourceforge.net to see more...
A fast PPTP proxy for any BSD with OpenBSD packet filter installed. It handles multiple transparent bi-directional tunnels, and can be chained from one proxy to another over several servers.
A simple NAT(network address translator) for IPv6 (Linux only). Make sure if you really need it before using it. Functions: 1. IPv6 auto configuration; 2. TCP, UDP and ICMP-Echo port forwarding; 3. static port mapping for TCP and UDP.
KMyFirewall is a KDE/Qt Programm that tries to provide an easy to use and comfortable GUI for the Linux "iptables" command. An easy to use plugin architecture allows fast and easy development of rule option extentions.
Creates true post-admission network access control by regulating network access to admitted users on an as needed basis. Users cannot escalate privileges between micro-perimeters. Manageable, efficient and scalable for complex security environments.
This project will serve as a central hosting/bug tracking center for modifications to the SmoothWall.org firewall distribution. Support and information for the "mods" posted here can be found on the SmoothWall.org forums, the SmoothWall.org IRC server, or
sshh allows you to make a persistent tcp connection (tunnel) over an http proxy. Once you have it set up, you can make new connections from either end. Similar in concept to httptunnel but more versatile and scalable.
The BACnet Firewall Router (BTR) is an application that combines BACnet routing capability with traffic management functions to carefully control access to building automation and control networks.
HTTP Tunnel that works with ANY HTTP proxy: no CONNECT method required! You can use the port redirector or Socks 4/4a/5 to connect outside your (restricted) LAN. An external web server is required, to be used as gateway.
