Disk Inspection and Monitoring
smartmontools contains utility programs (smartctl, smartd) to control/monitor storage systems using the Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology System (S.M.A.R.T.) built into most modern ATA and SCSI disks. It is derived from smartsuite.
I/O performance Analysis Tool
Hard disk drive and SSD health inspection tool
GSmartControl is a graphical user interface for smartctl. It allows you to inspect the hard disk and solid-state drive SMART data to determine its health, as well as run various tests on it.
Project's goal is to create better tools for diagnosing Linux systems. Diagnostics include first failure data capture, error log analysis, preventative testing, and system inventory gathering.
Open Source Solid Modeling CAD
BRL-CAD is a powerful cross-platform constructive solid geometry solid modeling system that includes an interactive geometry editor, ray-tracing for rendering & geometric analyses, network distributed framebuffer support, image & signal-processing tools.
A very high quality package of printer drivers for CUPS on Linux, Macintosh OS X, and other POSIX-compliant operating systems. This project also maintains an enhanced Print plug-in for GIMP 2.x from the same code base.
This project manages the libraries, configuration, and diagnostic tools for Wacom tablets running under Linux. It also maintains updated Linux kernel drivers and Xorg/XFree86 XInput drivers.
A command-line programmer for Atmel USB microcontrollers
A multi-platform command-line programmer for Atmel (8051, AVR, XMEGA & AVR32) chips with a USB bootloader supporting ISP. This is a mostly Device Firmware Update (DFU) 1.0 compliant user-space application. This project has now migrated to GitHub. You can find the new repository at http://github.com/dfu-programmer/dfu-programmer
Simple program that displays information about CUDA-enabled devices. The program is equipped with GPU performance test.
The Open On-Chip Debugger
The "Open On-Chip Debugger" provides JTAG/SWD access from GDB (or directly with TCL scripts) to processors with ARM and MIPS based cores. See website for full list of supported targets.
Linux Infrared Remote Control
LIRC is a package that supports receiving and sending IR signals of IR remote controls, adding functionality and flexibility to the basic support in the Linux kernel. Support for LIRC is ubiquitous in Linux HTPC applications; it's also packaged in all major Linux distributions. Despite it's name, LIRC also works on OSX.
GLDirect is the utility package for Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP that enables OpenGL based games and applications to access 3D hardware acceleration through the Direct3D drivers provided by your graphics hardware manufacturer.
This is a virtual floppy drive for Windows NT / 2000 / XP / 2003 / Vista / Windows 7 (both 32-bit and 64-bit versions)
macam is focused on developing webcam support for Mac OS X. We are trying to incorporate many different camera types. If you want a camera to work on OSX, join in! We need help with testing cameras (there are soooo many). Please visit the Web Site fi
IPMItool provides a simple command-line interface to IPMI-enabled devices through an IPMIv1.5 or IPMIv2.0 LAN interface or Linux/Solaris kernel driver.
WinLIRC, the Windows port of the Linux Infrared Remote Control package. Control your computer via remote!
System Stability Tester is a multi platform open source clone of SuperPI and comes with a GUI and a CLI. It can be used for CPU and RAM burning, stressing and benchmarking.
Software control for the BitFenix Recon fan controller.
Phoebetria lets you take control of your BitFenix Recon fan controller on more operating systems than the official software. It offers all of the same features as the official software, with the exception of remote access, and has been tested on Windows, Linux, and OS X. The current plan is that future releases will add functionality and control that the official software does not provide -- giving you even more control over your fans.
This tool let's you control the frequency and fan settings of your AMD/ATI video card. It depends on the proprietary AMD/ATI Catalyst display driver and makes use of the AMD Display Library (ADL).
Easy way to use the 1-wire sensors like temperature, voltage and more.
OWFS -- 1-Wire file system. Use the Dallas 1-Wire and iButton chips with standard filesystem commands. Create temperature loggers. Monitor everything. OWHTTPD -- same system, only used as a light weight web server. OWFS is also ported to embedded routers, Mac OSX and Windows. Basically you can use these inexpensive little sensors and other chips with very simple wiring to sense and control the physical environment. The interface is very flexible -- everything from a web browser, to read and writing directly to the chip's "file" to integrating with your programs -- even over the internet. There is a growing number of 1-wire sensors: temperature, voltage, humidity, light, ultraviolet, pressure, thermisters, thermocouples, programmable microcontrollers, relays, lights, LCD panels, etc.
Capture and control API for IIDC compliant cameras
libdc1394 is a library that provides a high level programming interface for application developers who wish to control and capture streams from IEEE 1394 based cameras that conform to the 1394-based Digital Camera Specifications (also known as the IIDC or DCAM Specifications). libdc1394 also supports some USB cameras that are IIDC compliant. Besides capture and control, libdc1394 provides a full set of colour space conversion functions (including RAW decoding), vendor specific functions and direct camera register access. Keywords: ieee1394, IIDC, DCAM, firewire, USB, machine vision, computer vision, video capture, library
Use your favorite keyboard layout everywhere! I learned the Colemak keyboard layout, but I can not install at school, so I wrote a portable keyboard layout program in autohotkey. It no requires install or administrator privileges.
