MooseFS (MFS) is a fault tolerant, highly performing, scaling-out, network distributed file system. It spreads data over several physical servers which are visible to the user as one resource. Easy-to-use multi-platform disk cataloguing program supporting local or removable media - drives and folders. Uses XML files as a data storage. It was originally created in 2010 to catalogue software compilations (also called freeware compilations) and CDs distributed with computer magazines. Access to the data of individual entries is provided through standard C++ iostreams. A simple read-only virtual file system that mounts regular directories and zip files is also provided.
