This file integrity checker uses Alternate Data Streams to store the hashes of your files. So, it only works on NTFS volumes. With that, you can rename, copy or move your files (to another NTFS volume) without losing the hashes, and without needing to do anything else. The Whirlpool algorithm is a strong 512-bit hash function. This tool uses several optimized implementations with SSE4.1 or SSE2 instructions when available.

md5cp
Copies files conditionally using MD5 checksums
md5cp will traverse a file tree and check the MD5 checksum of each file. If the file is unchanged, it is ignored; if it is changed (or new), its MD5 is updated in the database, and the file is copied to the destination directory. A number of optional parameters can change what happens in addition to the file copy. This utility is useful for situations when file dates are corrupt and rsync cannot be used.
