This program intentionally corrupts a unix stream at a specified error rate. It is for systematic analysis on the effects of data corruption. I wrote it to simulate bit-rot in file archives so I could test RAID and archive strategies for data recovery. A few short bash scripts are included so you can instantly enjoy text, image, audio, and video corruption. New versions @ https://github.com/hansij66/securecopy crccp and crcmv are based on coreutils (v8.23) and add crc checksum functionality to cp and mv commands. Checksums can optionally be stored in the file's xattr.
