This program allows you to set write and ownership permissions on Ext4 FS disks connected to your Linux system via a USB port to allow you to use them as storage. Normally, when you connect an Ext4-formatted disk directly to your system, you won't be able to write to or delete it. This is because Ext4 disks operate on a permission and ownership logic. By changing these settings, this program allows you to use your Ext4 disks as portable storage, just like MS NTFS, FAT32, or exFAT. You can also restore the permissions if you wish. This package provides a framework-agnostic database backup manager for dumping to and restoring databases from S3, Dropbox, FTP, SFTP, and Rackspace Cloud. Backup the development database to Amazon S3. The S3 backup path will be test/backup.sql.gz in the end, when gzip is done with it. Once installed, the package must be bootstrapped (initial configuration) before it can be used. We recommend using the vagrant configuration supplied with this package for development and contribution. Simply install VirtualBox, Vagrant, and Ansible then run vagrant up in the root folder. A virtual machine specifically designed for the development of the package will be built and launched for you. Backup to / restore from any configured filesystem. Configure your filesystems. Dropbox Lepton
Lepton is a tool and file format for losslessly compressing JPEGs
Lepton image compression, saving 22% losslessly from images at 15MB/s. Lepton achieves a 22% savings reduction for existing JPEG images, by predicting coefficients in JPEG blocks and feeding those predictions as context into an arithmetic coder. Lepton preserves the original file bit-for-bit perfectly. It compresses JPEG files at a rate of 5 megabytes per second and decodes them back to the original bits at 15 megabytes per second, securely, deterministically, and in under 24 megabytes of memory. We have used Lepton to encode 16 billion images saved to Dropbox, and are rapidly recoding our older images. Lepton has already saved Dropbox multiple petabytes of space. At Dropbox, the security and durability of your data are our highest priorities. As an added security layer, Lepton runs within seccomp to disable all system calls except read and write of already-open file descriptors. Lepton has gone through a rigorous automated testing process. -

Dynomite
A generic dynamo implementation for different k-v storage engines
Dynomite, inspired by Dynamo whitepaper, is a thin, distributed dynamo layer for different storage engines and protocols. Currently these include Redis and Memcached. Dynomite supports multi-datacenter replication and is designed for high availability. The ultimate goal with Dynomite is to be able to implement high availability and cross-datacenter replication on storage engines that do not inherently provide that functionality. The implementation is efficient, not complex (few moving parts), and highly performant. Every branch numbered like v0.5.9, v0.5.8 etc is stable and safe to use in production unless marked as pre-release. The dev branch is the development unstable branch. Over time master branch has fallen behind and is not maintained. We will eventually delete it and may or may not recreate it. Dynomite can be configured through a YAML 1.1 (YAML 1.1 is not JSON compatible) file specified by the -c or --conf-file command-line argument on process start. -

Persist and rehydrate a redux store
Basic usage involves adding persistReducer and persistStore to your setup. Every app needs to decide how many levels of state they want to "merge". The default is 1 level. If you are using react, wrap your root component with PersistGate. This delays the rendering of your app's UI until your persisted state has been retrieved and saved to redux. State reconcilers define how incoming state is merged in with initial state. It is critical to choose the right state reconciler for your state. Redux persist ships with react integration as a convenience. The PersistGate component is the recommended way to delay rendering until persistence is complete. It works in one of two modes. Loading prop, the provided loading value will be rendered until persistence is complete at which point children will be rendered. And function children, the function will be invoked with a single bootstrapped argument. When bootstrapped is true, persistence is complete and it is safe to render the full app. -

pgBackRest aims to be a reliable, easy-to-use backup and restore solution that can seamlessly scale up to the largest databases and workloads by utilizing algorithms that are optimized for database-specific requirements. Compression is usually the bottleneck during backup operations but, even with now-ubiquitous multi-core servers, most database backup solutions are still single-process. pgBackRest solves the compression bottleneck with parallel processing. Utilizing multiple cores for compression makes it possible to achieve 1TB/hr raw throughput even on a 1Gb/s link. More cores and a larger pipe lead to even higher throughput. A custom protocol allows pgBackRest to backup, restore, and archive locally or remotely via TLS/SSH with minimal configuration. An interface to query PostgreSQL is also provided via the protocol layer so that remote access to PostgreSQL is never required, which enhances security.
